Where oh where has my little dog gone?

No, I'm not missing my dog. You see, I can't miss something I don't have yet. I'm on the look out for my "perfect puppy," (or should it be "prefect?") I found one on a humane society site that seemed perfect. Apparently she was perfect for someone else who got there first.

I just want a dog that is going to fit my small (well, not that small) list of must-haves. I've been told most dogs will be having puppies soon. Is that true or a wives tale? If it's true, do dogs only get it on once a year?
